I don't believe Mr Dougherty was a shooter, but I sure would like to see a contemporary photograph of him...
The best we have is white male, 40---------and Mr Truly's description of him as "a great big husky fellow".
Mr Clayden, do you believe Mr Dougherty feigned incomprehension and confusion during his testimony before the Warren Commission?
We may never know for sure but Dougherty was discharged from the military for medical reasons. His father told the FBI that he "had considerable difficulty in coordinating his mental faculties with his speech." Jack Dougherty told the WC that the FBI misquoted him in his affidavit as he never said the noise that he heard (a gun shot) came from the floor above him (6th floor). He had said it sounded like a backfire from outside.
Dougherty's father was at the affidavit, but the WC never questioned him. Why?
