The John Martin film of Euins on Harkness' 3-wheeler was filmed at an acute angle to the doorway, and the film only has one frame that we can believe are the doorway columns from nearly edge on. No view into the doorway was possible. A few later frames show that area but are too motion blurred for analysis.
I stabilized the frames following the Reply#8 clip above while crusing toward the doorway. We can make out some pedestrians on the south side of the extension, and probably some moving in the direction of doorway in the background. There is one car in the intersection moving, maybe, in the direction of the door. Martin used a telephoto lens for the 3-wheeler ride so that judging distances in the background is not easy (e.g. Altgens6).
