I would be careful tossing around words like fascism without understanding it.  That kind of baseless and reckless disregard for the term devalues it in those situations where it might one day be applicable.

Trump = Holocaust (incredibly demeaning to those that died and their families).

Abortion = legal but obviously many other "legal" activities like going to work, school, cancer screenings, or church were deemed to entail a safety risk according to the socialists and prohibited.  The point is that there are only certain "legal" activities the dems allowed during the pandemic and they had nothing to do with safety.  They were politically driven to bring as much pain to those that work and go to church (i.e. Trump supporters) as possible for political purposes.  The results demonstrated that shutdowns, if anything, only increased the number of deaths.  NYC is a classic example.

Packing the court = replacing a sitting justice.  Roger/Martin doesn't understand the obvious difference between replacing a justice that has died with increasing the total number of justices to overwhelm dissenting voices (i.e. "court packing" - try looking up FDR if you don't understand why this is dangerous).

Protests and riots are different = not when the dems refuse to allow the police to govern these events, the rioters go unpunished for political reasons, and local governments fail to enforce the laws resulting in the destruction of private property, assaults, and murder.  Peaceful protests become the vehicle for riots.  Ask the folks in Portland, Chicago, and Seattle how these events are benefitting their communities.  Better yet why not visit these socialist utopias yourself and see if you can escape with your life?  No?  You just want to lecture others about their beliefs.  Typical hypocrite.  I can see why Old Joe is your guy.  Can't wait to hear his line of attack against a Catholic nominee to the Supreme Court based on her views on abortion.  Old Joe is a Catholic too.  Right?  So he would presumably share those religious views unless he was a hypocrite.

More whining... So, according to you only Trump supporters go to work and church? Really?.... Just how pathetic are you? The lockdown and covid-19 safety measures affected everybody, but only the right wing Trump supporters whined about their rights being taken away.....never giving a second thought to how their selfish behavior might infringe on the rights of others.

Actually, no they didn't. The lack of decisive action did. The shutdowns did not come soon enough. Highly populated areas were simply overwhelmed by a rapidly spreading virus, which Trump played down for months!. When the shutdowns began a lot of people were already infected, without showing symptoms. And when you put infected people in lockdown with healthy ones, that's when it goes wrong. In Europe there were lockdowns as well and they were not only timely but also limited the possibility of the virus to spread. And for the three months it lasted, nobody complained because the entire population understood the danger and did what needed to be done.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with replacing a justice who has died, but there is something wrong with refusing to do so in 2016, because it was an election year, as the Republicans did back then, and now doing the opposite. As for the size of the court, there is and never was a fixed number of justices. When the Republicans ignore their own rule from 2016 and rush this appointment through, why should the Democrats, when they get back in power (and they will), not be allowed to reduce the impact of the Republican hypocrisy by adopting countermeasures? Have you forgotten that the Republicans changed the configuration of the court for more than one year, in 2016/2017? But the mere fact that you already are in full panic mode about that possibility is telling.

There is only one reason for rushing this thing and that's the fear of the Republicans that they won't get an opportunity after the election, because they will have lost the Presidency and the Senate majority.

And finally, you really shouldn't be talking about dissenting voices when the right wing appointed justices are already in the majority. Another fine example of playing the victim!

Virus cases are reportedly skyrocketing in Europe.  I assume that is Trump's fault.  The idea that Trump somehow failed to take a still unspecified action that resulted in the US having a disproportionate number of virus cases is one of the most outlandish falsehoods in recent history.  The Europeans have done nothing better or that much differently than the US.  Some of those countries have a greater per capita number of cases and most have a greater number of deaths.

It's also dangerous for a party to use their majority status to both delay a Democrat's duly nominated Supreme Court justice and then hypocritically turn around 4 years later and rush a Republican's nominee through.  What's the rush, unless they already know that their boy is going to lose and their majority in the Senate is also doomed.

I don't engage with Dishonest John but anyone can do a simple Google search to confirm that several European countries have greater deaths per capita than the US.  Belgium, Spain, and UK, for example.  And Europe is in the midst of a surge in cases.  It is a falsehood to suggest that Trump failed to perform some still unspecified act that resulted in a greater number of deaths than in other places.  In fact, the CDC estimated approximately 200k deaths with mitigation.  So Trump has saved approximately 1.8 million lives given that the estimate was around 2 million deaths without mitigation.  It is all the more humorous that Trump is being scolded by Old Joe, "Let Them Eat Ice Cream" Nancy, and Negligent Cuomo.  All of whom downplayed the risks of the virus and encouraged people to go out like normal because they claimed the virus was all a racist hoax.  Untold numbers of Americans would have died has any of those PC numbskulls been in charge.  Nobel Prize nominations, three Supreme Court justices,  hundreds of federal judges and sparing us from President Hillary.  Wow.  Even if Trump loses this election he has done more good than any recent president.  Massive crowds at his events while Old Joe hides in the basement day after day.  And where is Kantala?  She disappeared faster than Amelia Earhart.
