This just about says it all......

“The deep state, or whoever, over at the FDA is making it very difficult for drug companies to get people in order to test the vaccines and therapeutics,” the president wrote.  “Obviously, they are hoping to delay the answer until after November 3rd. Must focus on speed, and saving lives!”

What a deplorable individual.

And for Richard.....the USA per capita death rate is lower than just 9 other countries. These include Andorra and San Marino, whose small population numbers tend to skew their result. Would you really describe that as many given the total number of countries involved, about 200.

The facts are the facts.  And do you really think countries like China, Russia, and North Korea accurately reported the number of cases/deaths?  Or that places like Africa had the resources to test as many people?  And how exactly does a small population "skew" numbers that are reported on a per capita basis?  And those countries that have more deaths per capita include, for example, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Peru...

The talking point that Trump was slow to react and that has resulted in an enormous number of deaths is demonstrably false.  Fauci estimated in March that there would be between 100-200K deaths with full mitigation.  Meaning that is the number of deaths to expect even if every safeguard was taken.  That is exactly what has happened. And the record shows dems at that time period encouraging people to get out and go about life as normal.

Results matter more than words. We've had decades of politicians that were consumed with not saying anything controversial for fear of offending anyone.  They didn't get anything done, though.  I could care less whether Trump is a nice guy or says some idiotic things.  At the end of the day, he usually does the right thing.  Often the kind of decision that the establishment politicians can't make because their paymasters won't allow it.  Almost every other politician is as egotistical as Trump.  They are just more adept at hiding it because their only objective is to get elected. Over and over again.  They will say anything, promise anything, but accomplish nothing.  Just look at Old Joe.  In office for nearly 50 years and not a single accomplishment.  Not one.  Is he a nicer guy than Trump?  Maybe.  But not I'm his family member or friend where that makes any difference.  We are electing a President not our favorite uncle.

I'm glad Trump is not my uncle: Who knows what kind of thing he got up to, what with his being around Jeffrey Epstein, and all.

This is no country for old men. The average person has more easily-accessible information at their fingertips these days: A lot of political and other malfeasance is being 'outed'. Young people are showing the bravery and moxie needed to get us all to a better place.

His book-writer sister is a family member. And here we have Trump himself trashing the country he has been in charge of for the past three years.

Make America Great Good Again, Joe.

https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/03/29/823517467/fauci-estimates-that-100-000-to-200-000-americans-could-die-from-the-coronavirus

These are the comments Fauci made in March.

"The nation's leading expert on infectious diseases and member of the White House's coronavirus task force says the pandemic could kill 100,000 to 200,000 Americans and infect millions.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said based on modeling of the current pace of the coronavirus' spread in the U.S., "between 100,000 and 200,000" people may die from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Fauci's comments on CNN's State of the Union underscore just how far away the U.S. is from the peak of the outbreak based on predictions from top federal officials. As of early Sunday afternoon, there were 125,000 cases in the U.S. and nearly 2,200 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Public health experts say that because of undocumented chains of transmission in many parts of the country, the number of new coronavirus cases in the U.S. is set to keep surging as more and more test results become known.

Fauci said the 100,000-to-200,000 death figure is a middle-of-the-road estimate, much lower than worse-case-scenario predictions.

He said preparing for 1 million to 2 million Americans to die from the coronavirus is "almost certainly off the chart," adding: "Now it's not impossible, but very, very unlikely."

However, Fauci cautioned people not to put too much emphasis on predictions, noting that "it's such a moving target that you could so easily be wrong and mislead people."

What we do know, he says, is that "we've got a serious problem in New York, we've got a serious problem in New Orleans and we're going to have serious problems in other areas."

Fauci's coronavirus fatality estimate comes as the White House considers ways to reopen the economy, including easing social distancing guidelines that officials have set forth to curb the spread of the fast-moving virus.

One in three Americans is now being asked to stay indoors as new cases soar, especially in New York, which accounts for nearly half of the country's cases.

When asked if it is the right time to begin relaxing some of the social distancing measures, Fauci said not until the curve of new infections starts flattening out.

He refused to guess when exactly that may occur.

"The virus itself determines that timetable," Fauci said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the seasonal flu has killed between 12,000 and 61,000 people a year since 2010. The coronavirus death rate is far greater than the flu's. For the elderly population, the coronavirus has been found to be six times as deadly.

There is currently no vaccine for the coronavirus. Experts say developing a vaccine for the virus could take at least a year."

Before I respond to your other comments at leat give Fauci the benefit of correct context for the one line propaganda grab designed to portray Trump as something he is not.

I can understand why some people might not like Trump as a person or find some of his comments offensive.  That is a perfectly reasonable subjective conclusion.  But nice guys finish last for a reason.  I prefer results over words.  The comparison between a career, do nothing establishment politician like Old Joe who has accomplished nothing in fifty years and Trump could not be clearer.  Old Joe will have a team of lawyers and paymasters go over his every word to avoid offending anyone but he will accomplish nothing.  Lots of false promises, but nothing done.  Trump will make some cringe-worthy statements, but get things done.  I prefer the latter.

What results? More than any President before him, he has divided the country, made America the laughing stock of the world, alienated friendly countries (for no apparent reason) and let a pandemic get completely out of hand.

They didn't get anything done, though.  I could care less whether Trump is a nice guy or says some idiotic things.  At the end of the day, he usually does the right thing.

Yeah sure.... Like going to court to take away healthcare cover for millions of Americans in the middle of a pandemic.

Almost every other politician is as egotistical as Trump.  They are just more adept at hiding it because their only objective is to get elected. Over and over again.  They will say anything, promise anything, but accomplish nothing.

And getting re-elected isn't Trump's only objective? Really? Are you that naive?

In office for nearly 50 years and not a single accomplishment.  Not one.

Enough with the GOP talking points already....

The facts are the facts.

Yes indeed... so why are you speculating?

And do you really think countries like China, Russia, and North Korea accurately reported the number of cases/deaths?  Or that places like Africa had the resources to test as many people?

Like I said... speculation! Got anything factual?

And how exactly does a small population "skew" numbers that are reported on a per capita basis?

You don't understand this? Really?

And those countries that have more deaths per capita include, for example, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Peru...

And most of them have the death rate under control by now, where as in America it still keeps on going up....

Stop trying to justify the sheer incompetence of the Trump administration in dealing with this crisis by going selectively statistical. But if you want to play around with numbers, how about this one... America has only 4% of the world's population, yet it has around 25% of the total deaths.

The talking point that Trump was slow to react and that has resulted in an enormous number of deaths is demonstrably false.

No it isn't. Trump banned flights from China in late January 2020, yet still let some 40.000 Americans travel home without any kind of check. And he didn't ban flights from the EU (in March) until after the EU had already banned flights from America. Between January and late March, all Trump did was play down the virus in every way he could. Only when the death toll started to rise, he began to act and even then he passed the buck to the Governors....

Fauci estimated in March that there would be between 100-200K deaths with full mitigation.  Meaning that is the number of deaths to expect even if every safeguard was taken.  That is exactly what has happened.

Fauci was guessing, as was everbody else at that time. Nobody knew exactly how many deaths there would be, because nobody knew (due to a lack of testing) how far the virus had already spread over the country. With full mitigation the death toll would likely have been lower than Fauci's estimate. You are just trying to rewrite history!

And the record shows dems at that time period encouraging people to get out and go about life as normal.

More GOP talking points.... The Democrats were not in power. The Republicans were... So let's see what they, and their propaganda network, said back then;

What was it again that you said? Facts are facts.... Damned right they are and none of your crappy rhetoric will change that!

Well, then it should be easy for you to tell us exactly what Trump has accomplished in his first term, right?

Lots of false promises, but nothing done.  Trump will make some cringe-worthy statements, but get things done.  I prefer the latter.

Get things done? Like what?... Bring back coal and steel jobs, like he promised? Have Mexico pay for the wall, like he said he would? Get everybody affordable and better healthcare, like he said he would? What major piece of legislation did he get passed by Congress?

What exactly did he get done, except sign executive orders and play golf (which he said, he would be too busy too do!).

With Trump in power, it's too high a cost.
