The Secret Service and the ONI had their offices directly across the street from the Newman building in New Orleans.

In his book "On The Trail of The Assassins" Jim Garrison says:

I obtained a copy of the Secret Service’s report of its investigation of 544 Camp Street—the entrance to Banister’s office—and made it available to my staff. The synopsis of the report, dated December 9, 1963, indicated that “extensive investigation” had revealed that no one at that address ever recalled seeing Lee Harvey Oswald. It went on to indicate that nothing of any consequence had been found at that address.

It is difficult to believe that the Secret Service did not have a file on Oswald seeing how Oswald was passing out leaflets in New Orleans that summer and appeared on TV and radio there. One would imagine the Secret Service office in New Orleans must have had a file on Oswald there. And that this file naturally would have been embarrassing on Nov 22nd when Oswald shot Kennedy in Dallas.

Does anyone know if Vincent Palamara covers this issue in any of his books on the Secret Service?
