No, that's not true....... Lee went to his room at the rooming house and changed his clothes. Mary Bledsoe said that the shirt he was wearing when she saw him on the bus had a torn or worn hole at the elbow......
We've all seen the photo of Lee holding up his handcuffed arms and there is NO HOLE in the elbow of the arrest shirt.
Lee went to his room at the rooming house and changed his clothesI believe this is likely true, simply because when you work in a dusty warehouse and you get home it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to change your trousers and not your shirt.
Mary Bledsoe said that the shirt he was wearing when she saw him on the bus had a torn or worn hole at the elbow......Yes she did say that in her testimony, but the information witten by Steve Thomas on the Ed forum and posted here as a quote by Tom Scully indicates that Bledsoe easily gets - let's be nice and say - confused. How can she claim Oswald showed her a picture of his new born baby when, on that date, the child had not yet been born? That's strange to say the least, right?
With that in mind, the problem with Bledsoe's testimony is that prior to her giving it investigators visited her at her home and showed her the actual arrest shirt, so she got to see the shirt (and the hole) up close and perhaps "refresh her memory".
I don't believe Bledsoe saw Oswald on the bus, at least not on that Friday, and I firmly believe she talked in her testimony about the shirt she had seen Oswald wearing on television after his arrest. The same shirt she was shown and thus could "identify".
