It wasn't republicans pulling fire alarms to keep the government closed. The Dems desperately wanted the government shutdown to take attention away from the endless disasters unfolding under Ukraine Joe and his clown show. McCarthy completely capitulated to them and they had no other choice except to vote as they did. Then they turned around and stabbed him in the back knowing that by keeping the government open there would be a vote to oust him as Speaker. Instead of showing any decency they voted 100% to remove him. The same guy who tried to be bipartisan in reaching a deal with them to keep the government open. They also emboldened the very folks that they claim are evil. They did that purely for politics. They want "chaos" to deflect from their own disasters. Now they can blame the republicans again when no deal is reached even though it was the vote of the Dems that ousted McCarthy. If even a few Dem moderates voted to keep him, then they could have transitioned to addressing the budget crisis.
The Dems desperately wanted the government shutdown to take attention away from the endless disasters unfolding under Ukraine Joe and his clown show. Sure... and that's why they joined McCarthy to avoid the shutdown! Do you ever think before you write something this stupid?
McCarthy completely capitulated to them and they had no other choice except to vote as they did. Utter BS... Why would they vote out a speaker of the other party that had capitulated to them. Doesn't make sense... at least not to sane people.
Then they turned around and stabbed him in the back knowing that by keeping the government open there would be a vote to oust him as Speaker. The actual backstabbing came from 8 Republicans. By themselves the Dems wouldn't have been able to remove McCarthy.
Instead of showing any decency they voted 100% to remove him. A Republican talking about decency? Hilarious.....
The same guy who tried to be bipartisan in reaching a deal with them to keep the government open. He didn't try to be bipartisan. He needed to be, because he had no control over his own party's members. It was pure weakness. McCarthy understood that Gaetz and his ilk had placed him between a rock and a hard place. Giving on to Gaetz would only have made his even weaker than he already was, so he went the other way and desperately asked the Dems for help. I don't think he ever really believed that Gaetz would get a majority to vote him out. His plan was to defeat Geatz and it backfired... it is as simple as that.
They want "chaos" to deflect from their own disasters. You mean the "disasters" that only exist in your delusional mind?
Now they can blame the Republicans again when no deal is reached even though it was the vote of the Dems that ousted McCarthy. Hey, that's politics..... Something the Republicans suck at...
