If the bag had been carried as Dan Rather carried it, then there should have been a SUBSTANTIAL palm print found at the BOTTOM of the bag.
If the top of the bag was twisted around like Mr.Rather has it, then there should be some signs of that at the top of the bag , such as vertical crinkled lines or something.
If that bag was made without gloves on and then handled multiple times when carried without gloves on, and placed in the bag seat and then lifted up out of the back seat again then there should have been MANY MORE prints all over the bag.
If the bag was carried as described by Linnie May Randle , with Oswald gripping the TOP of the bag with just one hand and the rest of the 8lb rifle in bag being swung along just off the ground , then the force of the hand gripped around the top of the bag should have left a SUBSTANTIAL palm print on that top portion of the bag.
The only possibility left, imo, from Randle description that could support the WC theory that bag was actually longer than 27in depends on Oswald’s hand and elbow position which I’m not sure Randle actually ever described specifically.
There are 2 ways to carry the package with just one hand at the top of the bag and letting the bottom of the bag swing just above the ground.
1. Gripping the bag with the thumb “up” and the forearm bent at approx 90 degrees, would allow a 5’9” man to swing a bag about 35” ( almost 3 ft) just above the ground.
2. Gripping the bag with the thumb “down” like a golfer griping a putter, and the forearm straight down, would NOT likely allow an almost 3 ft length bag to be swung just above the ground. The bag would have to be closer to only about 2 ft in length if carried this way, to likely be swung along just above the ground.
