I'm supposed to be bothered that he was standing still as Kennedy's limo approached instead of fumbling with his umbrella as he alleged? He was recounting events that happened 15 years prior. A few harmless inaccuracies are to be expected. Assuming he wasn't part of a conspiracy, and there's no proof that he was, the worst you can say about him is that he was a weirdo who didn't tell anyone that he witnessed the crime of the century.
You failed to mention that Witt claimed he was IN MOTION when the JFK Limo passed by him. This is the reason Witt gave for being unable to describe whatever was going on inside the JFK Limo as it approached/passed by him. During his HSCA Testimony, Witt was Not shown the Bronson footage of Umbrella Man standing stock still as the JFK Limo approached/passed by. It may have been 15yrs after the fact, but Witt certainly should have recalled his standing stock still vs his claiming to be moving down the Knoll toward Elm St. With Witt not seeing the Bronson Film Footage of the Umbrella Man, his testimony was tailored to buttress his Not Seeing Jack testimony. The ONLY HSCA JFK assassination images that Witt positively ID'd as being him, were images showing him sitting on the retaining wall.
