In the FINAL REPORT OF THE SELECT COMMITTEE tasked to investigate the investigation of Kennedy's assassination, dated April 23, 1976, it is evident that FBI Director Hoover is not concerned about national security, but about protecting the reputation of the FBI... and very likely a few guilty parties who pulled off the coup.

PAGE 4 of the FINAL REPORT:
"The evidence suggests that during the Warren Commission
investigation top FBI officials were continually concerned with protecting
the Bureau's reputation and avoiding any criticism...."

PAGE 6:
The Committee has found that the FBI, the agency with primary
responsibility in the matter, was ordered by Director Hoover and
pressured by higher government officials, to conclude its investigation
QUICKLY. The FBI conducted its investigation in an atmosphere of concern among senior Bureau officials that it would be criticized and its
reputation tarnished.
Rather than addressing its investigation to all
significant circumstances, including all possibilities of conspiracy, the
FBI investigation focused narrowly on Lee Harvey Oswald.

PAGE 32:
Almost immediately after the assassination, Director Hoover, the
Justice Department and the White House "exerted pressure" on
senior Bureau officials
to complete their investigation and issue a
factual report supporting the conclusion that Oswald was the lone
assassin.

PAGE 33:
In a telephone conversation with White House Aide Walter Jenkins
immediately following Oswald's murder, Director Hoover stated:
"The thing I am MOST CONCERNED ABOUT, and so is Mr. Katzen-
bach, is having something issued so we can convince the
public that Oswald is the real assassin
."
The pressure to issue a report that would establish Oswald as the lone
assassin is reflected in internal Bureau memoranda.

No wonder polls consistently show a majority of US citizens believe JFK's assassination was the result of a conspiracy... followed by a cover-up...
There was pressure to quickly condemn Oswald from one of the highest ranking law enforcement officers in the US, whose agency was continually concerned to protect the reputation of the FBI, not national security interests.

Hoover is condemned by his own words and actions...

FBI Director Hoover "ordered" and "exerted pressure" on the agency to "quickly" complete its investigation and issue a report stating that "Oswald was the lone assassin."

This "pressure" to establish "Oswald as the lone assassin" is reflected in internal FBI Bureau memoranda. Perhaps the release of classified documents will include these memoranda.

This is exactly how "justice" is served by dictators in third world countries...

THIS is Hoover's shameful legacy!

It's very interesting that many of the topics on our forum are all about Oswald... his IQ level, his habits, his travels, his rifle, his psyche, his marriage, his etc...

It would seem that after the revelations about J. Edgar Hoover "pressuring" his bureau to "quickly" find Oswald guilty, that there might be some deep and significant research into Hoover's life, integrity and etc.

He was bent to destroy Oswald's life, regardless of how sorry Oswald's life might have been...

This is not justice, from one of the highest officers of law enforcement in the US... and is quite possibly Hoover's means of covering up something he wanted to hide...

Is this disturbing to anyone?
