President Joe Biden ordered yet another delay in the release of secret files related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy yet to see the light of day more than 50 years after his death.
A White House memo, signed by Biden, said "[t]emporary continued postponement is necessary to protect against identifiable harm to the military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement, or the conduct of foreign relations that is of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in immediate disclosure."

Trump boasted he’d open all JFK files, but now says he can’t
January 8, 2021
Donald Trump boasted last fall that he would open all remaining John F. Kennedy assassination records. So far, Trump hasn’t made good on the “great transparency” he promised then.
Trump announced on Thursday that the public must wait another three years or more before seeing material that must remain classified for national security reasons — more than five decades after Kennedy was killed Nov. 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.

Yes, it is Trump's fault that Biden didn't release these files. Give it a rest.

Yes, it is Trump's fault that Biden didn't release these files. Give it a rest.
Where did Rick Plant say that?
-
A far more interesting question to ask is, what could be so sensitive after nearly sixty years, that it still might be harmfull to military defense, intelligence operations and law enforcement?
We're talking about a simple "open and shut" case of a lone nut with a rifle killing Kennedy, right?
Or are we?
-

Simple enough to figure out. It's neither of their faults. It involves national security, including the possibility of retribution by the various 'players'.

I doubt that there’s a smoking gun hidden in the files but I don’t buy that National Security secrets from over 50 years ago threaten current National Security operations.
My guess is that some files will show the extent to which the CIA and other agencies lied to the Warren Commission and other investigators…

:D :D :D
Richard always has to make up stuff that I never even said. The fact is the JFK files are not able to be released yet so it's nobody's fault, except Criminal Donald boasted he was going to release them because he's nothing but a blowhard.
-
Where did Rick Plant say that?
LOL. Try to figure it out Roger. Here are some clues.
Title of this thread: Biden delays JFK Files release
Rick Plant's post: Trump boasted he’d open all JFK files, but now says he can’t (making no reference to Biden's decision).
Now think real hard. Isn't Biden the president? He is the person who made this decision this week. He could have released the files if he saw fit. This has absolutely nothing to do with Trump. I'm pretty sure there was a thread on this when Trump was president and made a similar decision but no one interjected that Obama, Bush, Clinton and every president that preceded him was actually at fault.

And neither did Rick Plant! He only pointed out that Trump did the same thing as Biden is doing now. Nowhere did he say that Biden's decision was Trump's fault.
You really need to stop making stuff up and perhaps get your paranoia under control.

Criminal Donald boasted he would release the JFK Files and then in January said the files can't be released for 3 years. That means President Biden can't release them as well. Quit being biased and blaming President Biden as usual.

Right. The guy who has posted thousands of anti-Trump posts on this board had no intent to blame Trump. It's just a coincidence. Who do you think you are fooling with that kind of bull? btw: Rick just confirmed he is blaming Trump. So get your stories straight.

So you are blaming Trump just as I indicated! And, of course, you have gotten it wrong or are intentionally lying about the facts. This is Biden's decision. Why do you think it says "Biden delays JFK Files release"? If Biden can't release them, then what "decision" is he making? Good grief.

Sorry Richard, you are making things up again with your conspiracy theories and accusing me of being a "liar" which is against forum rules. You are also accusing me of saying things I've never said. I have never blamed anybody for not releasing the JFK Files.
Criminal Donald boasted that he was going to release the JFK Files and then said he couldn't for security reasons. He said in January 2021 that the files can't be released for at least another 3 years. President Biden has said the same so he is also unable to release them.
Richard Smith is using projection and is pathetically trying to blame President Biden. Absolutely ridiculous.

Again, this statement a demonstrable lie which you have now repeated. You either have absolutely no idea what you are talking about or you are intentionally lying due to your uncontrollable Trump obsession. You have posted thousands of anti-Trump posts on this board. Here, you have interjected a false reference to Trump in this context indicating that he is to blame for Biden not releasing these JFK files.
Since you dispute that for some unknown reason, let's look at your exact words to see if you are "blaming Trump" or not. Ready?
"... in January [Trump] said the files can't be released for 3 years. President Biden can't release them as well."
This explicitly claims that in January that President Trump prohibited the release of these files for three years and therefore Biden "can't release them." There is no ambiguity on this claim. It is, however, demonstrably false. Trump established a timeline for release of these files in an executive memo on Oct. 26, 2017. Pursuant to that timeline, Biden had to decide by Oct. 26, 2021 whether to release the files. Biden had complete discretion and authority over that decision to allow the files to be released. Trump's 2017 memo in no way precluded him from doing so. In fact, it enabled Biden to release these files. You have posted a complete and total lie in violation of forum rules. This has now been pointed out to you. Absent a retraction of your false statement here, you should be suspended from this forum again for intentionally spreading false information.

Here is the actual background. You now have an opportunity to retract your repeated lies on this issue.
"Later this year President Joe Biden will face a decision about the disposition of the last of the U.S. government’s still-secret records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. With an April 26 deadline looming, federal agencies must inform the National Archives later this month about their plans to release the historic documents or continue withholding them. The Archivist is scheduled to make a recommendation by September 26 about the disposition of the records. The president must then decide by October 26 whether to accept or modify the Archivist’s recommendations.
Some 15,834 assassination-related documents remain partially or wholly classified, according to the National Archives. Most of these records were generated by the CIA and FBI. They include contemporaneous reports related to the murder of the 35th president in Dallas on November 22, 1963, files of CIA officers who knew about accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, and interviews conducted by congressional investigators in the 1970s.
The legal timetable was established by an executive memo issued by President Donald Trump on October 26, 2017..”

So desperate....

BS.. you inserted the word "therefore", not Rick. You are giving your incorrect interpretation and are trying to put words in Rick's mouth that he never said.
You could just as easily insert the word "but" instead of "therefore" and you get a completely different meaning. The fact of the matter is that Rick inserted neither of those words and you are simply pushing your own false narrative, like you always do.

This is real simple Roger. We are discussing a demonstrable fact established pursuant to a legal process. Rick has repeatedly claimed that in January '21 Trump precluded Biden from releasing these files for three years. Is it true or false that Biden "can't release" the files due to something that Trump did in January? Is Biden "unable" to release the files due to some action that Trump took or not? I posted the actual facts. In 2017 (not 2021) Trump delayed the release of these files. That necessitated a decision by the President (Biden) by Oct. 26, 2021 (today) as to whether to release the files. Biden had the complete authority to do so. He decided not to release the files. Nothing Trump did rendered him "unable" to do so as Rick has now falsely claimed several times.

Where did he actually claim that? Show us the links to those postings....
It seems to me you are doing what you always do; making up a strawman and then attack it.
Biden had the complete authority to do so. He decided not to release the files. Nothing Trump did rendered him "unable" to do so as Rick has now falsely claimed several times.
So far, all we have is your erroneous interpretation of what Rick is supposed to have claimed. Isn't it about time that you learn that your interpretation is not fact and is meaningless when the person himself tells you he has never made such a claim?
You are fighting against windmills.

WASHINGTON (AP) ” President Donald Trump boasted last fall that he would open all remaining John F. Kennedy assassination records. So far, Trump hasn’t made good on the “great transparency” he promised then.

The National Archives released its last batch of more than 19,000 records on Thursday. But an undisclosed amount of material remains under wraps because Trump said the potential harm to U.S. national security, law enforcement or foreign affairs is “of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in immediate disclosure.”

Trump pledged to open classified JFK assassination files. What happened to that?
Trump tweeted in 2017 that he would order the files to be released. It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

You have repeatedly claim that Biden is "unable to release them as well." The only explanation you have given to support that statement is a false one. Nothing that Trump did in January rendered Biden "unable" to release the documents for three years. You appear to be confused or are lying about when Trump delayed the release of the files. In 2017 (not "January"), Trump established a legal process that included a specific timetable to review the JFK files. That process allowed the President to make a decision by Oct. 26, 2021 on whether to release the JFK files. Biden is the president. There is no three year prohibition on making this decision that renders Biden "unable" to do so as you have repeatedly claimed. Biden had complete and total discretion to determine whether to release these files. Nothing Trump did rendered Biden "unable" to release the files. In fact, Trump's only relevance to this action was to enable Biden to release the files after Oct. 26 if he wanted.

"Rick has repeatedly claimed that in January '21 Trump precluded Biden from releasing these files for three years."
Got it. Thanks for clearing that up Thumb1:

I'm not exactly sure why you are participating in this discussion, but why is Biden "unable" to release the files for three years as Rick has repeatedly claimed if you are speaking for him. He has repeatedly referenced that Trump did something in "January" while making this claim. If whatever Trump did in January has no relevance as to Biden's ability to release the files (i.e. he is not blaming Trump) why repeatedly reference it in a discussion relating to Biden's decision not to release the files? Did Biden have complete discretion to release the files on Oct. 26 or not? It's not a trick question. And, of course, the guy who refers to Trump as "Criminal Donald" in this thread and has posted thousands of anti-Trump tirades on this forum wouldn't "blame" Trump for anything. Right? Making that kind of dishonest statement is a new low even from a contrarian who fills this forum with endless absurdities. The fact is that Rick either intentionally lied or was in complete ignorance of the facts. In 2017 Trump delayed the release of the files and established a specific timeframe for their review that culminated with a decision being made by the President (i.e. Biden) on Oct. 26, 2021. There was no action in January by Trump or any prohibition imposed by Trump that rendered Biden "unable" to release the files for three years. That is a demonstrably false statement.

Making that kind of dishonest statement is a new low even from a contrarian who fills this forum with endless absurdities.
Do you often talk about yourself in this way?

Yes of course he would blame Trump for many things, and rightly so, but just not this one.
The fact is that Rick either intentionally lied or was in complete ignorance of the facts.
No, that would be you, because you claimed falsely that "Rick has repeatedly claimed that in January '21 Trump precluded Biden from releasing these files for three years."for which, when asked, you have provided no evidence and only your incorrect opinion.

:D :D :D
Whatever. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you over this nonsense. Nobody here is agreeing with you. I haven't blamed Criminal Donald for not releasing the files when he had 4 years to do so when he was boasting that he would.
The fact is Criminal Donald wasn't able to release the JFK Files due to security reasons and it's the same thing with President Biden. When the files are able to be released they will be.
All you want to do is blame President Biden and gaslight as usual creating another endless argument. I'm not going to do it.

A far more interesting question to ask is, what could be so sensitive after nearly sixty years, that it still might be harmfull to military defense, intelligence operations and law enforcement?
We're talking about a simple "open and shut" case of a lone nut with a rifle killing Kennedy, right?
Or are we?
What could be so sensitive? Information that has nothing to do with the JFK assassination, but is about other things, like the identity of friendly people in places in Cuba or elsewhere, if whose identity is known puts them, or possibly their children, in trouble. Early CTers figured out that accusing people involved with spying or other tasks in Cuba was a good tactic. Even if nothing is found involving the JFK assassination, information would be found that would have to be kept secret. Providing “proof” of the government’s involvement, at least to the gullible.

You are not making sense, Joe
This case, according to the official narrative, is about a lone nut with a rifle killing the President. How in the world does information about "friendly people in Cuba or elsewhere" relate to that narrative and why would that be part of the assassination files?

'the identity of 'friendly people'
_haha.. aka 'friendlies' in 'spy-craft' lingo
(Guess I've seen more spy movies than you, Joe)
Meantime:
Biden delays release of JFK assassination files until nearly 2023, blames COVID-19 pandemic
https://www.theblaze.com/news/jfk-assassination-files-delayed-biden-covid
"Temporary continued postponement is necessary to protect against identifiable harm to the military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement or the conduct of foreign relations that is of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in immediate disclosure," Biden wrote.
Biden announced that the release of information regarding JFK's assassination is postponed until Dec. 15, 2022.
-
Even high profile LN'ers like Gerald Posner have criticized the decision to delay the release of JFK assassination records yet there are still gullible people on this forum who believe the delay is no big deal.
Biden as a senator supported the JFK records release plan by the way...

Haven’t seen a better news clip about this topic than this one

I am saying that it is possible that the “secret government files on the JFK assassination” might have nothing to do with the JFK assassination, but does cover other sensitive information.
Let me give you a possible example. This scenario is possibly truth or false. I do not know. Let’s assume for the moment that it is true:
The CIA was involved in trying to assassinate Castro. From Mafia figures Giancana and Roselli, they got the names of people in Cuba that they think might help them do this. These Cubans might be willing to help or might not have been willing. Either way, if this information becomes known, that the CIA thought they might be helpful, they could be in big trouble.
Years later, CTers claim the same people with the CIA working to kill Castro ended up killing Kennedy. They demand that all the government documents on Giancana and Roselli to be release to prove or refute this theory.
Well, it’s possible that none of the information provided by Giancana and Roselli has anything to do with the JFK assassination. Only with the attempt to assassinate Castro.
Question:
Should this information be released?
I would say no. I think such a release would do nothing to convince CTers and would only put certain Cubans or their families in danger. Possibly people who never had any intention to aid the CIA. But if you believe differently, justify it.

Not necessarily. This group of “friendlies” could include:
* Cubans who wanted Castro killed or overthrown, and have communicated this desire, directly or indirectly, to the CIA.
* Cubans who support Castro, but some CIA contact mistakenly thinks they would help bring down Castro.
“friendlies” or “spies” refers to Cubans who the CIA believes might help the CIA overthrow Castro. This belief might in some cases by true while in others false. Never-the-less, all these people and maybe their families could be in big trouble if Cuba learned their identities, even many decades later.

There is a contradiction in your position. Files either relate to the JFK assassination or they don't.
How files that have nothing to do with the assassination can be “secret government files on the JFK assassination” is beyond me.

Why are you explaining what 'friendlies' are? What else did you think I meant?
Anyway, even Jefferson Morley (a few years ago) said nothing of any importance will come out
At least nothing that will turn the assassination upside down. Nothing that will shut up CTers at least.
Oswald: It was me. I did it.
CT Zombies: NO YOU DIDN'T! STOP LYING!

Didn't he also say that he didn't see any need for vaccine mandates?
