Watch Albert Thomas back slap JFK after the Rice University speech. This is a full year plus before 11/22.

Then here he is with his infamous wink to LBJ:



The White House photographer who saw this afterward years later called it, at a minimum, "distasteful." At worst, "sinister."

So what happened? Is it all speculation? Did Thomas know something that we don't?

Yarborough cried in Dallas. Thomas winked. It makes you wonder.

I gotta wonder if he was in danger of being swept up by the same congressional investigation that was about to take down LBJ but was stopped when JFK died and Johnson became POTUS.

"In Congress, Thomas was a protégé of Texas Senator (later President) Lyndon B. Johnson but maintained a generally conservative voting record. In 1949, he became chairman of the House subcommittee on independent office appropriations. He also served on the subcommittee on defense appropriations and on the joint committee on Texas House delegation. He was a typical Southern Democrat who through seniority rose to be the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee's, subcommittee on defense. A picture is worth a thousand words ! People can think what they want about this face to face interaction between Thomas and LBJ but the day JFK was murdered , all of LBJ's problems went away . While watching Presidential races over the years , there is problem between the voters and those who we are voting for ! With the person who holds the Big Seat in the White House , our country is being run by an individual who seems to have a problem with lying a lot . Albert Thomas had the audacity to wink at LBJ as if to say well Lyndon , you sure got out of a jam , a BIG Jam !
