Republicans are now doing whatever they can to make absentee voting more difficult, because they know when more people vote they will lose elections.
I can’t argue with that. Clearly, the easier it is to vote, the harder it is for Republicans to win. Yes, this is the overwhelming reason for changing the law and preventing voter fraud is just an excuse to make the changes.
But, as long as the voting is not wildly unfair. As long the urban voting lines are not too long, I will accept the Georgia law for now.
But the Georgia press had better be on the ball and monitor the 2022 and 2024 elections and report accurately if there are problems. Don’t go in with a mindset that the elections are fair, or the elections are unfair, but go in with an unbiased mind and measure the amount of waiting times at randomly selected precincts, and maybe a few chosen ones where they think are likely to be overwhelmed, and give an honest report. At the very least, the press better not be caught sleeping on this. It is an important story.
