Can anyone suggest other resources than Google Newspaper Archive and newspapers.com? They have to be online as I'm not in the US.

The latter has San Francisco Examiner but not the SF Chronicle. I'm looking for articles from the 70s (about some unsolved murders).

I use to find and read some old books on some "archive" website.... but as for now...not sure if all of these are free, it appears geneaology types use these quite a bit. Okay, you mention newspapers.com so obviously, you know of this first link, I will leave it though after rereading your comment.

And this is the website, I read a few old books on. Perhaps they have newspapers:

Thanks Richard. I hesitate to get involved with the geneaology sites, but did buy a sub to newspapers.com ...

Thanks Denis! Very close, but the librarian told me that an SF Public Library card was absolutely required.

Most of the old newspaper archives have been moved online where you have to pay in order to view them. Even libraries don't really have access to them anymore. If you subscribe to a major newspaper you can view all the old articles they have.
